Canadian, Ukrainian SMEs launch joint UAS venture

A Ukrainian SME and a Canadian SME are launching a new joint venture, which will manufacture reconnaissance UASs in Canada for Ukrainian forces.  

The new venture, named Airlogix-Sentinel, was established at the defence and security trade show CANSEC, which took place 27–28 May in Ottawa, Canada. It is intended to accelerate the supply of UASs to Ukraine for intelligence gathering and operational planning. 

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, the venture will see the UASs of Ukraine’s Airlogix manufactured at the facilities of Canada’s Sentinel R&D. 

Canadian support for Ukraine  

An agreement signed by officials from Canada and Ukraine at CANSEC formalised the establishment of Airlogix-Sentinel.

A statement from the Canadian Government also said that, beyond the new venture, the country will “continue to pursue” opportunities for joint development and co-production with Ukraine.
