The Canadian government has launched a tender calling for the supply of small uncrewed ground vehicle systems to assist in the search for explosive threats and for ordnance disposal.

Published on 16 March on the Canada Buys procurement portal, the tender also includes the provision for associated support services for the vehicles. It does not specify the number of units required.

According to the notice, the procurement falls under the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and is subject to the federal government’s policy prioritising Canadian suppliers and Canadian content in strategic procurements.

As a result, the notice is restricted to Canadian suppliers only.

The Department of Public Works and Government Services is acting as the contracting authority for the process, while the Department of National Defence is the buying organisation.

The procurement will be conducted through a competitive open bidding process, with the lowest price listed as the selection criteria.

Full documentation and submission instructions details are available through the procurement portal, with interested suppliers advised to contact the contracting officer for access.

The tender is open for bids until 28 April 2026.
