Red Cat developed Black Widow for the US Army's Short-Range Reconnaissance Programme with field maintenance as a core requirement. VP of Marketing Stan Nowak explains how those lessons have driven the development of a broader family of systems.
Nowak explains how:
- Black Widow was designed for modularity and field repair, with swappable motor arms and gimbals that soldiers can replace without returning equipment to depot
- Hellcat UAV builds on Black Widow's architecture, giving end users a menu of command-and-control systems, antennas, sensors, and optics
- Red Cat moved towards sensor-to-shooter kits that combine surveillance with precision strike at a low cost
